September's words and pictures

 Seasonal

A huge bunch of large haws - perfect for hurling at the husband when he least expects it ..... mhwahahaha.

Favourite seat/place to sit

This, when I typed out the prompt at the beginning of the month, was not what I had in mind .... however, briefly on Thursday afternoon there was a small flash of sunshine. Bathing my sidekick in the most wonderfully warm light.

In the attic, where I am at the moment, there is a 2CV back seat which is used as a 'settee' when I get visitors while I am sewing. However, the most frequent user of this rather comfortable seat ..... is Moss.... so her favourite comfort-blankie (thank you Daisy) is draped for added snuggle.

Comforting/cosy

A few years ago a dear friend gifted to me her salt lamp. It has cheerfully given out it's happy and holistic vibes ever since. In the time it has been mine, both boy's girlfriends have fallen under the spell of the pink glow and now are owners of their own. They are a comforting warming light - perfect for dark evenings and dank days.

Delight/ed/ful

I know I have shared this story with you before - I was so captivated by this brief moment of magic that it remains with me and makes me smile.

Micro/mini/teeny tiny

Some time over the summer we spent a wild weekend away in the van, we stopped at the coast for Moss and I, me to fill my eyes and my soul with the coastal light and Moss to swim and play. As we sat on the stones to dip out of the breeze, Himself noticed the tiniest of feathers on a piece of drift wood.

My own choice

Umm. An image is better than a thousand words..............

Hope you've enjoyed my offering for September, now I am off to check out the other photo-hunters posts - have a good weekend xxxxx

  1. As usual Moss is the star of your post. She does however let herself down, first looking so elegant on 'her seat' then melting in the sunshine and sliding over the side!! 🧑xx

    1. She often slides off her bed, whether it is one of her mattresses or this seat, and it is not as if it is too small, she just.... oozes off... like a furry slug!

  2. Lovely Kate & I'm struggling writing posts at the moment, but hope to join over the weekend (I will....). The 2 pics of Moss made my hand leap out to pat the screen. Your hare is beautiful & I've always been fascinated by those salt lamps & may try & get one for myself. Love the little feather. Take care, stay safe & huggles from down under.

    1. Thank you, I see you have joined in, will go and catch up with everyone's posts in a moment or two. I do love my lamp especially on a dull day - it certainly 'warms' the room with the light it gives off.

  3. Moss looks so happy. I love her blanket, lucky girl. :)
The salt lamp does look as though it makes everything more cosy. A lovely gift. X

    1. Moss is one of those dogs that is happy as long as she is with her people and if there is a blanket/biscuit/a walk/a swim/a camping session/a seat with a cushion as well - then she is even happier! :D

  6. Obviously, photo #2 warmed my heart, but the final one wrapped it in a much needed hug. xx πŸΎπŸ’šπŸπŸ‚

Should I confess I am up to four salt lamps and would have more if I could stir myself to drive to the lovely Rock Shop in Ambleside who always have a great selection to choose from. Word of warning though - be careful if you succumb to the lure of an 18” tall one when offered it as a birthday present. At 25kg I can barely move the darn thing!

    1. Sending dog shaped hugs right now xxx
You made me chuckle at the thought of your huge 25kg mountain of a salt lamp (along with a tinge of envy!!) xxx

  8. Beautifully coloured berries, have you ever made anything with them? LOL for hurling them at hubby!
Moss is just adorable, so matter where she is.
We have a salt lamp too and it does have a nice comforting glow. I think my parents have at least six of them in their house.
Love that hare, such lovely photos of him.
