Not quite as it seems

Have you ever started something that you thought would be easy to complete?
You know one of those jobs that you 'know' will take a little effort but are worth it?
Well - this was not one of those.

I did think it would be................. a quick job, that is.

All it was, was a small amount of tanglement - courtesy of a tidy up session to include a catling. A small white catling with 20 claws and a wicked sense of play.......who thought ruffling through a ball of red yarn was about the most delicious fun E*V*E*R.......

Who would have thought that from that mash-up of yarn (above) to the lovely tidy squat ball would taken me SEVERAL HOURS........................no, me neither,  *sigh*

So, despite having my hands and mind occupied with yarn - I didn't get much knitting time this weekend.

Still languishing under the thumb of a lingering lurgy. Catling likes it though - means lots of cat-lap-napping =^.,.^=

ps We're getting geared up for our Yarnival -the adventure continues 2013 - pop over for an update!

  2. Yes I have had a similar tanglement where yarn is concerned. I think it's one of those situations where you make it worse before it gets better.
Sorry your lurgy is still lingering, I have husband home today with something!! I took the opportunity to sit down this afternoon, we watched a film and I knitted a hat!

  4. Sorry your feeling unwell, nice to have furry company though.
Last year Betsy grabbed a skein of yarn and took it for a trip around the garden, it took me forever to untangle, my husband said 'Throw it away you've spent ages on untangling that stuff', if only he knew I think it cost me £17.00 it was a lovely hand dyed silk yarn. I still have it but it is ruined and I'm going to use it as a base to cord around a wall hanging.

    Get well soon.x

  5. I too was cursing recently as I got a skein of yarn in a bit of a tangle and I refused to cut it; it took hours to untangle it but in the end I won! So glad sniffles etc don't transmit with blogs and emails! Take care. For medicine I recommend a snuggle with a cat and dreaming of your next foray into the LYS.

  6. Untangling that wool was just the excuse you needed to sit with Pan by the fire and a brew - several brews!! Get well soon.

  7. Now then Hawthorn you are not seeing it from the catling's point of view...it was quite obvious that your gorgeous Red yarn (yes I said red...you know red flashing in front of a kitty's eye...I can just imagine her flexing her claws as she readied to pounce on the offense red stuff!!!) was quite an enormous temptation to a sensitive kitty. I mean really shame on you Hawthorn for expecting her just to sit and watch the flick and flutter of red yarn being wound up (here we go with that colour again) in front of her... tut! tut!..what cat could resist it! I vouch for the catling's point of view!

Hope you'll be better soon...just think spring.

    Amanda :-)
