My garden
An oasis of green and calm,
where I can lose myself for hours.
Flowers
Partly due to the glorious summer
and partly due to my attentions,
this year - I have 'fireworks' happening!
Insects
During the heat of this week, a thirsty and hot bumblebee
needed a sweetened drink and a rest.
It was wonderful seeing it bumble off once it had recovered.
Sunset/sunrise
Solstice sunset - magical.
Something Wild
On Thursday, whilst out walking, we spotted this heron
preening it's post hunt feathers,
completely ignoring anyone walking on the canal towpath.

DeleteI like the cottage-garden feel and colours of your flowers. I'm glad you feed bees - we do too, but mostly when they've been stuck inside and run out of steam. I've never thought about bees getting tired outside. I must keep an eye out. It's such a privilege, isn't it, seeing birds and animals about their business, like your heron. x
ReplyDeleteWe often rescue bees in the garden, it is almost as if they just over do it and need a quick drink and sugar boost to get home
DeleteA great shot of the heron and I like the sunset but just love the pretty flowers in the second shot, they remind me of those Starburst fireworks :)

DeleteHerons seem almost too exotic to live here.

DeleteGreat photos; the heron is my favourite, closely followed by the sunset and your flowers. Feeding a weary bee and see it recover is an amazing sight; we've had to do this over the years. I wish I'd had my camera on my lap the other day, as there were FOUR herons in the field near the Chinese take-away...
