My garden
An oasis of green and calm,
where I can lose myself for hours.
Flowers
Partly due to the glorious summer
and partly due to my attentions,
this year - I have 'fireworks' happening!
Insects
During the heat of this week, a thirsty and hot bumblebee
needed a sweetened drink and a rest.
It was wonderful seeing it bumble off once it had recovered.
Sunset/sunrise
Solstice sunset - magical.
Something Wild
On Thursday, whilst out walking, we spotted this heron
preening it's post hunt feathers,
completely ignoring anyone walking on the canal towpath.
My own choice(s)
More from my soul-space,
my oasis.
June has been beautiful here in the northern hemisphere,
hope it has been good for you too xxx
Lovely Kate & your garden is certainly looking lush. My favourite is the heron preening his feathers. My wild are birds too. Thanks for doing this hunt for us. Take care, stay safe & huggles from a cold down under.
ReplyDeleteThank you๐ the roses at the moment are smelling gorgeous and I'm loving my garden, it is Amazing what a decent summer can do x
DeleteWhat a gorgeous selection of colour, summer and your beautiful garden. I can imagine the insects humming just looking at your photographs. I miss not being able to enjoy it this year. so thank you for sharing it. xx
ReplyDeleteThe garden is a mass of bees and hoverflies and now have been joined by butterflies ๐
DeleteI like the cottage-garden feel and colours of your flowers. I'm glad you feed bees - we do too, but mostly when they've been stuck inside and run out of steam. I've never thought about bees getting tired outside. I must keep an eye out. It's such a privilege, isn't it, seeing birds and animals about their business, like your heron. x
ReplyDeleteWe often rescue bees in the garden, it is almost as if they just over do it and need a quick drink and sugar boost to get home
DeleteA great shot of the heron and I like the sunset but just love the pretty flowers in the second shot, they remind me of those Starburst fireworks :)
ReplyDeleteThat particular walk was definitely Heron-heavy definitely none of them were particularly bothered by us
DeleteHerons seem almost too exotic to live here.
ReplyDeleteWe have a lot around us, but we are quite rural with lots of canals and reservoirs๐
DeleteYour garden looks gorgeous Kate - I too love the cottage garden feel you have going.
ReplyDeleteThe heron astonishes me - ususaly they fly off if we come anywhere close - beautifully captured.
Thanks as always for keeping this going Kate x
Thank you, I was rather pleased at the heron too x
DeleteGreat photos; the heron is my favourite, closely followed by the sunset and your flowers. Feeding a weary bee and see it recover is an amazing sight; we've had to do this over the years. I wish I'd had my camera on my lap the other day, as there were FOUR herons in the field near the Chinese take-away...
ReplyDeleteI saw the same four yesterday! So glad you saw them too!
DeletePhew, so glad you saw them so now I know I was not imagining them!
DeleteSuch beautiful photos, but the gorgeous flowers and sunset are my favourites!
ReplyDeleteThank you ๐
ReplyDeleteThank you for doing the scavenger hunt Hawthorn. Lovely photos. My favourite are your flower fireworks; they're stunning. x
ReplyDeleteThank you๐๐
DeleteYour garden is certainly a gorgeous oasis, thank you for sharing so many beautiful photos of it.
ReplyDeleteFabulous photographs ๐
ReplyDeleteOh your garden is beautiful! I can easily see why it's your oasis. I'm warming myself up vicariously through yours and others garden pics :o)
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit late to the Party again(so couldn't link up) but I've joined in and managed to stop by to have a look at all the 'entries' and there's some great interpretations. I want to say thank you for hosting - I find myself looking at things with an eye to the prompts! And I love it!
