An interesting piece of glass which had escaped from the river. I found it after the river had been very high. It had interesting measurements along the edge and I hazarded a guess that the wording said - taBLE-SPOOn - so wondered if the demarcations were in tablespoons - an old medicine bottle perhaps?

I love the broom flying witch mermaid weather vane up on a cottage in a neighbouring village.
A quick heads up - this month will be the last Scavenger photo hunt I am organising, my life is getting too busy to keep it up and now I have started an online bee keeping course which is being run in the evenings, giving me even less time. I have loved doing it and loved reading everyone's blog posts and shall miss it.
If any one would like to take it over - that would be amazing and can certainly explain how to do the link up page.
Or maybe it was a bottle for HORRIBLE-SPOOKS and now they're loose?! Let's go with TABLE-SPOON to be safe.

ReplyDeleteYou'll know where I have found it - the river going into the nature reserve, the little stony beach between the metal bridge (1986) and the wooden foot path bridge :)

ReplyDeleteI love finding sea glass, this particular little river yields up lots of pottery and glass especially after stormy weather. And I love that vane too :)

DeleteGreat glass find Kate! I love collecting sea glass but haven't ever come across one with text imprinted on. The mermaid weather vane is beautiful. Have fun with the Bee Keeping course, that sounds so exciting. Lulu x

Lovely Kate & the weathervane is so elegant. We have one on the "shed", but very plain. We go beach strolling a lot and it's one thing I've never seen or found is sea glass. Maybe it all gets washed up to the Northern Hemisphere. Having said that, I can imagine what I'll find when we next walk along a beach (giggle). Take care & hugs.
ReplyDeleteI love the weather vane and we can never resist picking up bits and pieces that have a story to tell. Sorry that you are having to drop managing the photo hunt but it sometimes these things stop being so much fun and become a bit more of a chore ... really glad Astrid wants to take it on though as I’ve really enjoyed taking part 😃
