Flaming June #30dayswild 25

My garden
An oasis of green and calm,
where I can lose myself for hours.

Flowers
Partly due to the glorious summer
and partly due to my attentions,
this year - I have 'fireworks' happening!

Insects
During the heat of this week, a thirsty and hot bumblebee
needed a sweetened drink and a rest.
It was wonderful seeing it bumble off once it had recovered.

Sunset/sunrise
Solstice sunset - magical.

Something Wild
On Thursday, whilst out walking, we spotted this heron
preening it's post hunt feathers,
completely ignoring anyone walking on the canal towpath.

My own choice(s)
More from my soul-space,
my oasis.

June has been beautiful here in the northern hemisphere,
hope it has been good for you too xxx

  1. Lovely Kate & your garden is certainly looking lush. My favourite is the heron preening his feathers. My wild are birds too. Thanks for doing this hunt for us. Take care, stay safe & huggles from a cold down under.

    1. The garden is a mass of bees and hoverflies and now have been joined by butterflies 😊

  3. I like the cottage-garden feel and colours of your flowers. I'm glad you feed bees - we do too, but mostly when they've been stuck inside and run out of steam. I've never thought about bees getting tired outside. I must keep an eye out. It's such a privilege, isn't it, seeing birds and animals about their business, like your heron. x

    1. We often rescue bees in the garden, it is almost as if they just over do it and need a quick drink and sugar boost to get home

    1. That particular walk was definitely Heron-heavy definitely none of them were particularly bothered by us

  5. Herons seem almost too exotic to live here.

    1. We have a lot around us, but we are quite rural with lots of canals and reservoirs🙂

  6. Your garden looks gorgeous Kate - I too love the cottage garden feel you have going.
The heron astonishes me - ususaly they fly off if we come anywhere close - beautifully captured.
Thanks as always for keeping this going Kate x

  7. Great photos; the heron is my favourite, closely followed by the sunset and your flowers. Feeding a weary bee and see it recover is an amazing sight; we've had to do this over the years. I wish I'd had my camera on my lap the other day, as there were FOUR herons in the field near the Chinese take-away...

I'm a bit late to the Party again(so couldn't link up) but I've joined in and managed to stop by to have a look at all the 'entries' and there's some great interpretations. I want to say thank you for hosting - I find myself looking at things with an eye to the prompts! And I love it!
