Just about bordering on odd, I see things through different eyes. The heading says it all - I live, I love, I craft, I am me...

Five things I noticed today

  • The finer the rain - the quicker it seeps through and chills me to the bone. It also seems to have a slight metallic scent - it smelt of winter today
  • My left boot, when damp, squeaks when I am walking through the main building at work - loudly - to the point of making people look up
  • The people I work alongside (the council men who are based at the park) are so kind and generous with their time and their knowledge
  • Tea, even if made in my bucket sized heat saving travel mug, does not stay warm long enough for me
  • I need to clear out the drains running along the glasshouse as a matter of urgency - the trees are flinging their leaves about in monsoon like quantities.

Have a lovely weekend

  1. Squeaking boots are so annoying! You seem to be the proud (?) owner of a beautiful pile of leaves, destined for leaf mould? At home there are still a lot of leaves to come down... I so agree about fine rain being wetter than normal rain, unless it is torrential! x

    1. All the leaves in all the parks go to one central point, then get handed back out a year later as leaf mould - at the moment I have the monopoly on it !

    1. Today's sunshine more than made up for it :)

  3. We always call that light drizzly rain "wetting rain" as we seem to get wetter from it than we do when it's bouncing off the pavement.
Boo to the squeaky shoe! xxx

    1. I agree - which seems odd, that such a fine 'nothing' rain actually makes you 'wetter' than proper rain!

  4. I like the thought of noticing five things during the day & that might help me through these difficult times. That fine rain is almost as annoying as the drenching type, but we often call it "mizzle". I suppose that is a combination of drizzle & mist. Is it your greenhouse you are needing to do the drains or the one where you work? Keep warm & dry, stay safe & hugs from a not very warm down under.

    1. Often random things happen through the day, not worth stringing together for a blog post, so they were allowed to be little stories in their rights, was nice and easy to do too x
