Just about bordering on odd, I see things through different eyes. The heading says it all - I live, I love, I craft, I am me...

October - glad to see the back of you

I am sitting quietly in the lounge, there is a list as long as my arm to try and complete today (but probably it will by the end of the week realistically speaking) and a studio waiting for me - I have another art fair Saturday and Sunday and I should really be making new stock as most of mine was sold last weekend.

But - I have a rather pressing issue ... this month's scavenger hunt ! So with a coffee to hand, a sleepy dog on my feet and a list of words to complete I must get on!

The words were inspired by last month's weather - which continued all through October too unfortunately.

Umbrella
Himself and Moss, he insisted on taking us (well - me mostly, Moss is usually first in line) despite the weather. I had so much to do (leading up to the art event) but he was right. I did feel better afterwards.

Wet

Same walk, same dog - she was so wet.........

Puddles
... and this is why!

Overflowing
The ground was thundering and I (as did Moss) hated crossing the bridge over this 'boiling cauldron' of water. Himself revelled in it.

Splash
No words are needed for this - but for clarity refer to - umbrella, wet and puddles....

It has been this kinda month................

My life was completely eaten with TAM's art trail weekend, this year was the most complicated, with the most venues and more artists we have had before. What really got to us - was how needy and demanding people are. How their own problems and issues seemed to negate any one else's feelings or requirements. How adults turned into wining children when their art wasn't being purchased, when the rain did not stop, when the venue was cold.  Their demands for instant attention and action even when we were busy ourselves. Even late at night.

Any way - this week as been one of reflection, tidying up, folding away, paying of bills, returning of table covers, finding and returning lost property...... and undisturbed sleep.

Today, after a few chores, I will be painting again - I've missed it, my creativity had to take a back seat for most of October and now - this is MY creative time (besides I need a table load of arty things for Saturday so I best get on!!)

Until next time - it is good to be back xxx

  1. Beautiful photos, as always - you know I can never see too many pictures of the wonderful Miss Moss.

Congratulations on TAM, and shame on the selfish people who have made it so hard on you and the others who have given so much of yourselves to make it a success for everyone. I very much hope you will not allow yourself to be sucked back in and that you step back so that another group of people can organise the next one. 💐💐💚💚

  4. Oh Kate, you are such a giving person of your time, I feel for you with those who can't just look out for themselves & let it be. Yes, it's great if their work sells well, but there are highs & lows for all of us and they should accept that without taking it out on others. Have a lovely creative weekend & hope all goes well. Take care & huggles.

  6. Wow that is a scary amount of water, I can understand why you did not want to cross. Love your photos even if they do remind you of a less than enjoyable month for you.

I am sorry to hear that all your hard work for the art trail was found wanting by some, I hope that you are able to find the time for your own work and that Saturday goes well.

  7. Lovely pictures as ever. Love all of them but favourite has to be the last, Moss all covered in mud and as pleased as Punch with herself. People may have been awkward but for someone who walked around most of TAM exhibits, you would not have known there were any problems.

  8. I remember doing craft fairs years ago with my teacup candles and people do like to have a good moan. I used to wear lots of layers and always brought a flask with me. Great pics of Moss. It certainly looks like it's been gushing with you. X
