Light and Dark
This will be the final time I am hosting the Scavenger Photo Hunt and it seems only right that I use my hairy side kick - Moss.
Two images - one the original photograph, the other a drawing done by a precious friend.
We had been camping during one of those precious short breaks when we could escape in between lockdowns and after a day's walking in hot sunshine, we returned to the van for the evening. Moss had been fed and was lying on the grass while we quietly drank tea and chatted about our day. The sun was lowering and when I took the photograph, the sun was reflecting off the back of the van and Moss' fur shone out brilliantly against the darkness of the wall. Light and dark.
How apt that you should end your stint at hosting this link with a gorgeous picture of Moss - your constant companion and our Grand dog. Thank you for giving us hours of fun delving into long forgotten archives. Best wishes for all your new projects. With love from a very proud mother. π§‘πxx
ReplyDeletethank you πΎπ€ I thought she'd be perfect, and thank you (again π)xx
DeleteI like the drawing, it's very well done and an excellent likeness - Moss makes a great subject for light and dark but nothing can beat the photos, especially the second one :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Eunice, on the main, she is very photogenic but there are some absolute corkers that have us chuckling!

Thank you Julie, she is photogenic but as said to Tigermouse - she also pulls some stupid faces which amuse us greatly xx
DeleteIt's great you end with Moss; can't think of a better light/dark from you. I echo what Jak has said but will add I'm a proud friend! x

DeleteMoss is so gorgeous and the light on her coat is just a perfect dark and light.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Kate for all the inspiration and I'm looking forward to seeing your new projects. The time feels right at the minute for letting go of things to allow something new in.
I shall let Moss know - her head might get too big with all this praise ππΎ And yes, it feels right to move on xx
DeleteI love the term 'hairy sidekick.' X
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha - it is what she is - my 'other half' ππΎ
DeleteOh Moss, I so need a cuddle from you with that beautiful soft furry coat & your cheeky grin. Good one Kate & thanks for hosting these hunts over the years & I know I've been with you from the start & will be ever grateful. Take care, stay safe & huggles.
ReplyDeleteThank you Susan, hope you will continue with Astrid as she takes over - stay safe x
DeleteShe is a beauty and such a character ... another big thank you from me for hosting us on the photo scavenger hunt ... I think im would have run out of blogging ideas without it this year π
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome Carol <3 and thank you - hope you will carry on when Astrid takes over, having the prompt does help when you get a brain block! xxx
DeleteI am quite put out!! How could I have missed this! Moss is so photogenic the drawing is fabulous of course but I love the two photos. Amanda x
ReplyDeleteMoss is photogenic - even the comic ones are precious. The drawing was a surprise gift from a wonderful artist friend of mine - it will be treasured doubly.
DeleteShe is just gorgeous! I love the drawing your friend did, it captured her beautifully.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for hosting the photo scavenger hunt and now entrusting it to me to continue. I will do my best! Any and all suggestions are most welcome.
Astrid - you are very welcome and thank you for taking it over, you will be fine - my only suggestion is to keep a list of the words you use (I didn't and occasionally repeated them and I was always (very gently) told off by the hunters!!) But it is a lovely way of connecting and meeting new blogging friends xx
