I've married an old romantic - he never forgets.
My track record is a little less reliable as I often do forget.....oops. But this year I was a little more organised and presented him with two of his favourites 😊 He was definitely a happy bunny!
I am fed up with the weather though. Fortunately I have a bit of design work to do inside - an ornamental bed for the Queen's Jubilee for work, in conjunction with the community and a private commission - wall or fence vs evergreen hedge for a very small garden on a busy road. The owner has her heart set on a hedge, but there are so many problematic issues - her safety for it's upkeep, the amount of space it would need and how long it would take to grow high enough to give her the privacy she wants.
Ah - just looked outside and the rain has turned to heavy wet and sloppy snow - *yay* 🙄 I know it is only February and I need to deal with winter - just not this relentless grey rubbish stuff that seems to be happening this year.
Oh well, sunshine will have to come from within😊🌞💗
Have a lovely and Happy Monday!

Edited to add: the fence won! Woop woop, so now off to price panels and pleached Silver Birch trees - talk about excited!
Sunny ,sunny ,sunny here but cold, cold wind... you can't have it all I suppose LOL! What a gorgeous bouquet of roses! Truly lovely! That's a coincidence I bought Sr P chocolate too. He has a terrible sweet tooth :-) I have been holding out telling him too much sugar is just too much for you at your age! I haven't baked anything cake wise or bought his favorite milk rice pudding (he doesn't like the English version ) so today I bought him a large bar of milk chocolate as his Valentine pressie. I bet it is gone by this evening! Have a wonderful day Amanda x
ReplyDeleteOoh - tell me about your rice pudding - I don't like the English version either - just tastes like rice in sweet milk! (well it does to me) I can manage the cold if the sun shines it is when it is mostly dreich that it gets to me :)
DeleteI don't think you would like the Spanish version. That type of rice pudding is made with condensed milk and about a kilo of sugar (it tastes as if a kilo of sugar has been used + the sweet condensed milk). It is served cold. My MIL taught me how to make it because Sr P loves his Mum's rice pudding! Needless To Say I obviously don't make it the same as his Mum. I got fed up with his complaints so I buy him a tub of it from the local supermarket. He doesn't winge about that! A x :-).
DeleteHappy St Valentine's Day! What fab flowers - both yours and his!
ReplyDeleteIts so frustrating when the weather won't play nicely, isn't it? I've been trying to take ebay photos for the last few days and it won't stop raining! xxx
And to you too! I agree, the weather is definitely not playing nicely xx
DeleteI love the flowers, they are beautiful. The weather has been absolutely foul here since before the end of last month, with the exception of last Wednesday when it was absolutely glorious and I was able to do the snowdrop walk at Lytham Hall and buy some snowdrop plants in memory of Sophie who went to doggy heaven two years ago.
ReplyDeleteThank you - and I agree the weather seems to have dragged some what and looking at the weather report we are about to get a whole lot more!! Urgh 🙄😂
DeleteI have just read your post regarding Sophie's snowdrops - how precious xx well done 💗
DeleteLovely flowers!
ReplyDeleteThe weather is awful...I would prefer a proper winter and get it over with!!
Now we have to tie everything down even more securely before Wednesday night.
Thank you :)
DeleteYes to a proper winter and I am so not looking forward to Storm Dudley and Storm Eunice !
I'm glad the fence won & your reasons were very well put. We don't do Valentines Day, but your flowers are lovely. As for weather, although sunny, we've had so little rain since early December in our parts of Oz & yesterday reached a stifling 35deg, with 31 predicted for today & tomorrow, though that could change like the 'weather"......ha-ha. Hope you get some sun soon & a warm Spring to cheer you along. Happy hunting for fence & trees. Take care & hugs.
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan, I am glad too - now just have to sort it out.
DeleteI would send rain with pleasure on condition you sent some sun!
It really is indoor weather. Good luck with the design - I bet that it will be awesome!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteIt is definitely indoor weather.
It's not really been walking weather of late, let alone gardening! Well done with the fence idea; a hedge is alright if one is young! I did wonder if Himself would bring your flowers and he did, sweet man. x
ReplyDeleteIt most definitely is not walking weather!
DeleteHe indeed is a sweet man - a keeper :)
Snow would definately look prettier than all the rain we are getting here. x
ReplyDeleteI believe we (well certainly further north and we just fit in that generalisation) will possibly get snow towards the end of the week...
DeleteIt has definitely been a very wet few days hasn't it. I too do not like the grey heavy days that we get so much of at this time of year, a little bit of blue sky would be lovely wouldn't it. Stay safe this week if you are outdoors, it is meant to be very windy over the coming days.
ReplyDeleteIt most definitely has been and it seems we are destined to have a few more!
DeleteI'm fed up of this weather as well, but at least you have flowers AND shortbread. Xx
ReplyDeleteI agree - it can get quite frustrating - yes it is late winter but does it have to be so dreary!!! (unfortunately the shortbread is no longer however the flowers bloom on!)
DeleteGorgeous flowers. Our men are such romantics...I was given a huge bunch of red roses and we had a special dinner. Sorry, doing catch ups again. I read them, then read them to Dad but then forget to comment. xxx
ReplyDeletethank yo and yes they are :)
DeletePS Glad the fence won. In a small garden there is little room for a hedge and slow growing too.xx
ReplyDeleteSo am I :)
