This is my first Friday off from work (and the Photo Scavenger Hunt) for a little while and it feels soooo good.
To celebrate that Friday feeling, Himself and I are going to pack ourselves a quiet little picnic, boots, camera and dog lead and find a backwater route for a walk. We are avoiding like the plague (sic) any where which may be popular and making sure we choose the path very much less trod.
But before we go - here is my first photo for Astrid's Scavenger Photo hunt - do pop over and visit, you'll find all the regulars and hopefully some new faces/blogs too.
Chocolate
Tomorrow I am baking - I have family coming over to join us for a 'socially distanced in the garden afternoon tea' on Sunday. The first one for many months. Of course the cake has to be .......
A chocolate Victoria sponge with little bunnies bouncing around!
Have a lovely Friday and a good weekend xx
Cute little chocolate bunnies; enjoy your socially-distanced garden party on Sunday which should be try but cool! Nice photo of the Butterbur with Moss in the background! x
ReplyDeleteHoping that a combination of a beach wind break, use of the summerhouse and the power of gritted teeth we will stay warm enough!
DeleteI love your photograph of the river with the chocolate coloured flowers - just can see Moss. Looking forward to tasting that chocolate cake and seeing the family. Been ages, far to long. ๐งก xx
ReplyDeleteIt will feel strange having us all together - apart - in the garden, cake and tea will make it all feel right!
DeleteI hope to see a photo of your cake. Enjoy your path less chosen.
ReplyDeleteMust remember to take a photo before we all sink into it !
DeleteI hope you enjoyed your walk and picnic, if your weather is currently the same as here it will have been lovely. I love the little bunnies for your cake but I don't think I could bring myself to eat any of them :)
ReplyDeleteWalk was wonderful - virtually no one around (apart from the masses loitering around the ice cream van.....)
DeleteHave a fabulous time...sounds like a great idea! Enjoy! Look forward to seeing what goodies you bake for your garden get together. Amanda x
ReplyDeleteThank you :) will have to remember to take photos :) xx
DeleteHappy Easter. You sound like us, scared to go anywhere there might be too many people, so we are staying put here in our town for the long weekend, as it has so far been the hottest April start in around 80 years or so. The traffic which we can hear on the Freeway in & out of Melbourne has been non=stop. Ugh!!!!! Enjoy your Sunday afternoon tea. Take care & hugs.
ReplyDeleteNot scared. Disgusted. Disgusted by their ignorance and filthy habits of littering. Ashamed that they have no perception of personal space, we dislike large groups of people - have done long before the pandemic - lockdown has only increased our distrust and dislike of 'the masses'.
DeleteOoooh, I love a nice picnic.... and chocolate. Have a great weekend! Lulu x
ReplyDeleteIt’s pretty grey here today, but hoping for sunshine tomorrow. I will be taking blankets to our garden BBQ catch up with friends this afternoon ... along with my Easter cheesecake. I love this tiny chocolate bunnies, I’m sure I could have found room for a few of those. Don’t think we will risk going anywhere popular for the next couple of weeks, but lots of nice places to find off the neaten track and with a picnic on your back what could be nicer ๐. Happy Easter
ReplyDeleteI hope you will show us the finished cake. We've been making chocolate Easter nests here.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend. X
I hope you had a wonderful Friday off, and a wonderful time with your family! x
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoyed your day off and found the perfect spot to enjoy yourselves, without anyone else around! Oh, to have a lovely chocolate sponge cake, it's been ages since I've had one. Do you have a good recipe?
ReplyDeleteThose Butterburs look particularly striking. I saw some this morning but I never see any as handsome as those ones. Hope the cake was good! X
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoyed your weekend get together - such a joy to see people - I hope you didn't have to throw the cake;)
ReplyDeleteLove the chocolate bunnies. I drink that cocoa - yummy
