The first thing I did when I got home was shake myself like a dog, beat my clothing like a carpet, jump in the shower and try to dissolve myself under the water - then collapse with a mug of tea (well several mugs of tea in quick succession) until Himself came home.
Of course I had a brew with him too - I think I am finally feeling human again.
Also on what has been a rather warm day - I tried on my finished BLO crochet beanie, made Himself try it on and took photos of my next one .... hello hook, I am back - have you missed me?
Oh how I envy you...this house has no bath!!
ReplyDeleteThat grey is still beautiful
Oh - I've lived in houses like that - you think you will managed then eventually you realised how much you miss it! I have warmed to that grey - initially felt it was a bit 'flat' but a combination of the stitch texture and the strawberry have lifted it :)
DeleteMy goodness Kate.....how big was that meadow? Did Moss need a shake, brush & wash too? The crochet hat looks great & your work is always so neat. Loving that your crafting mojo is returning & look forward to seeing more of your garden/craft adventures. Take care, stay safe & hugs.
ReplyDeleteHi -IT IS a rather large garden sized meadow - size of a tennis court??ish but by the end of the day it felt ENORMOUS!
DeleteYou have my sympathies with the meadow mowing - I'd be completely jiggered after 5 minutes! I have a bank we left to go feral as I couldn't manage it with the mower or (when too long for that) the strimmer (dust not good for asthma) so am going to call in a gardener we have the number for. Our two paddocks need doing too - Rosebay Willowherb everywhere, along with brambles.
ReplyDeleteAs autumn is here I am going to dive head-first into my UFO x-stitch projects and perhaps even finish some quilt projects too . . .
It is definitely a young person's 'game' but I am determined not to admit defeat - I certainly feel it today๐ I am wondering if the shortening day light is the trigger we all needed to reach for the UFOs and crafts?
DeleteI can sympathise with the heat....three hours cleaning on a hot afternoon followed by an evening's morris dancing last night in a mask left me quite warm!! Arilx
ReplyDeleteGood grief, that does sound warm๐ฒ
DeleteLovely hat and you would have needed it here yesterday morning - thick mist and damp cobwebs everywhere until the sun burned through.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds so autumnal!
DeleteI love the ๐ strawberry on your hat. Very sweet. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Sharon ๐
DeleteIt certainly is 'hat making' time now. I've been gifted 2 lots of yarn for hats so will need to get my thinking cap on..... I gave up mowing any grass 6 years ago as that time really made my knee go wonky so Beloved does this job (now and then!). Perhaps you need to hire some tame lambs.... x
ReplyDeleteFunnily enough, the garden is surrounded by lambs and ewes for most of the year, nothing in the fields at the moment so I was the last resort!
DeleteSuper lovely hat and the strawberry is sweet...excellent finishing touch. It looks nice and comfy.Did you use a pattern and if so could you send me the link please. I have promised my nephew in Australia I would make him some hats and he likes the slouchy type similar to yours. Keep well Amanda x
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda - it's a me-made pattern - if you hang on I will do a post for it - super simple (has to be for me!) and very satisfying to do ๐, I've just finished the blue shades one, will start another and take photos and do a 'recipe' x
DeleteIs it really your own design...wow! Well it looks great! Thank you! I'll look forward to that xx A x
DeleteLovely beanie. I think I may need to get reacquainted with my own crochet hook ๐
ReplyDeleteI am pleasantly surprised how much I have enjoyed getting back to crochet ๐
DeleteYou've got me itching to get my hooks out again, that hat is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThat meadow must have been huge! xxx
I think the cooling down of the weather definitely has that kickstart to crochet and the meadow (is part of a garden!) was big enough!! was glad to see the back of it TBH ๐
