Despite a rather late night ... ok ok - well it was New Year's Eve and we did have a cracking cheese board and sticky toffee pudding to scoff - any hoo, we eventually fell into bed ... then ...after a two hour 'nap' I woke up ... wide awake ... wide.... wide ..... wide... awake.
Going for the first walk of 2022 was the very best thing for a fuzzy head - induced by lack of sleep rather than anything alcoholic! The fresh breeze soon cut through the haze and filled my lungs with clear crisp air and despite it being the first day of January - it was amazingly mild and we soon shed jumpers and coats.
Moss ran around with the silliest grin on her face as she chased down her frisbee and ran around with it around her face.
We bumped (not literally) in to folk we'd not seen to chat to since before the first lock down and visited our local village cafΓ© and had a welcoming warming brew as we sat outside in the soft sunlight. It almost felt .... normal? Well as if 'normal' is a thing now!
Hello January.
Hello 2022.
And hello to the first walk of the year and boy did I need you
to blow away those lack of sleep cobwebs!!
ππππππ
Hope you have had a good start to your year and it just keeps of getting better
(As long as you get plenty of sleep π€£π€£)
Right I am off to bed - absolutely knackered!!
Happy New Year, Kate! X
ReplyDeleteAnd to you too! xxx
DeleteHappy New Year to you and your family from the folks down under. Lack of sleep is something I know only too well and we've had some earlyish walks too before the heat sets in. Love Moss with her Frisbee. Take care and hugs.
ReplyDeleteThank you Susan - happy new year to you too π
DeleteWith in a Celsius temp -27 day, my walk was all of 15 minutes to get the dog taken care of. I envy your green. I lazed too much yesterday today is for productivity. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteEek that is a little cold!! This winter here has been a very dreary wet and mild one - stay warm π₯Άx
ReplyDeleteThat suddenly bang awake is strange isn't it, especially with no obvious reason.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good walk
It was definitely one of the rude awakenings, one with no reason and the walk was just the thing for itπ
DeleteI hope you managed to catch up on your sleep. I blame the cheese!
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos, I though Moss was wearing one of those Elizabethan collars at first, glad it's just a toy. xxx
I did thank you - I suspect you are right about the cheese!
DeleteHappy New Year Kate - I hope it's wonderful for you all. it's been so beautifully mild here and after a short wander around the garden to see what was budding, I got back into bed with a book - lazy start to the year :)
ReplyDeleteAnd to you Fil! It has been and remains still to be mild. I love that you went back with a book - a very good start to the year indeed!
DeleteI know that walk! After the recent high winds I was surprised that none of the big trees along the lane had been blown down as some look vulnerable. It's so good to be able to get out for a walk. Yesterday and today I've done over 10,000 steps! May the mild weather keep us walking! x
ReplyDeleteYou do indeed!
DeleteThere have been some large branches down and the wall has been repaired but at the moment all seem settled and fine - they are mature trees and I do love them so.
Sounds like you've had a nice start to the new year... bleary eyed and all! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteAnd to you too Debi!
DeleteIt sounds like you had a nice walk to start off the year, and Moss looks really happy with her frisbee :)
ReplyDeleteI did thank you Eunice :) and Moss loves chasing the frisbee down - one of her favourite games :)
DeleteHappy New Year to you and yours. Hope you have caught up on your sleep now.
ReplyDeleteAnd to you too! Sleep all sorted now thank you!
DeleteArgh! Cheese dreams? It is amazing how a good walk can make up for lack of sleep. Hope you've since caught up. Beautiful last photo Xxx
