Crocheting a warming blanket, the hook sliding through the yarn.
Sipping tea
Chatting
Making cheese toasties
Walking
Laughing at such a muddy face
Drinking more tea with shortbread biscuits
Baking a sticky toffee pudding
Gently sautéing onions for cauliflower macaroni cheese
Listening to the radio
Smelling the scent of a gingerbread spice soy candle
Not a bad day, gentle and restorative.

DeleteWhat are cheese toasties? I'm not familiar with them, but they sound good. The face...made me laugh. Sipping, crocheting and sitting my the fire sounds very nice for this time of the year.
ReplyDeleteWe eat two types of 'cheese toasties' - you may know them by another name. One is a sandwich with various fillings including cheese which is 'pan fried' so the outside of the bread becomes toast and the cheese inside melts and coats all the warmed contents, the second way is a single slice of bread (toasted on one side only) then on the untoasted side various toppings and finished of with grated cheese (?shredded) and placed under the grill (?broiler) until all melted and golden. That is the very basic versions, they both make a quick and tasty lunch and in winter we have them with soup.

ReplyDeleteIt was a good one, and I was spoilt for choice with pictures of Moss - this was the 'sweetest' the others were just images of a mud monster!
DeleteI'm not sure which is my favourite, that muddy face or the gorgeous blooms in the jug. It's so good to hear it called macaroni cheese instead of the Americanised Mac'n'cheese. xxx
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the increasingly used Americanised terminology slipping into the conversation - the other one I dislike intensely is 'ketchup' rather than tomato sauce although I do know the origin is 'catsup' which is English but has now become ketchup and adopted to become Americanised.

ReplyDeleteOh no Sharon - that's rubbish! my youngest son and girlfriend had to get through the isolating stuff too and I think they found the boredom worse than the virus - here is to next Sunday!
