Just about bordering on odd, I see things through different eyes. The heading says it all - I live, I love, I craft, I am me...

Simple pleasures

Last weekend was a time for chores at home, the sort of simple jobs I procrastinate over, then once I finally get round to doing - wonder why I took so long to get started ......
Time to replace the tired pots of sunflowers, sweetpeas and calendulas which have spent their summer
along the kitchen wall.
I found some very reasonably priced zinc buckets and Himself added drainage holes in their bases.
It didn't take long, and now I have winter colour and planters along the back wall.

They'll soon settle in and fill out while the weather is still 'reasonably' warm.

Mask making - this time with a seasonal twist, I will be posting some of these off as soon as I can.
This must be the easiest and most fool proof pattern yet - this is the one I will be sticking with from now on.
Pattern HERE

Jam making - well, grape jelly really.

The greenhouse grapes yielded over 2 kilograms of fruits - added to about 500gm red currents...
boiled together with 710gms of pectin enriched sugars....
gave me five full jars and a half-ish one (presently sitting in the fridge) They are now labelled up and ready to eat. A soft rose coloured jelly with a delicious tangy fresh taste - perfect on toast and scones - can't see this lot lasting long :)

Simple jobs that once done bring pleasure - there are more that needs doing but - pah - not just yet!

Are you a procrastinator? Do you have jobs waiting to be done? Go on, tell me, reassure me I am not the only one (I am procrastinating now - should be showering and getting ready for a morning stint of volunteering at the community store - but ... phfff, still sitting chatting to you!)

Have a lovely Tuesday xxxxxx

  4. I am the Queen of Procrastination! I always say the I work best under pressure. Oddly, I was not like that at work, I was very organized and did things in a timely manner. Your jelly looks good, I'm hoping to make some in the next couple of weeks... oops, is that procrastination?? ;-)

  5. Your pots look good & much shinier than my 2 ancient tin buckets & that jam sounds lovely. Procrastination is my second name......during this lockdown, I've been really bad, especially with emails, phone calls, general paperwork & getting onto the computer, though in some ways both cooking & crafting have been hard on the motivation front too. Worst of all was my poor garden, just because of the winter weather & now the grey gloomy days we've been having one after the other, but bring on summer & it might cheer me up. We did move about 200 bricks yesterday from a neighbour's wilderness & my back is aching now.(giggle). Hope you Tuesday was good, take care, stay safe & huggles.

    1. Well done with brick moving - what are they going to be used for? My garden has been neglected recently - mostly coz I work in other folks gardens and when I get home I am a bit too tired to do anything exciting in mine!

  6. Not only am I a professional procrastinator but and I am an expert stacker. I can stack up things, then move them into another stack. Your new pots looks fabulous. Look forward to seeing them one day. The jelly looks good too, I recognise some of the jars❣ ❤

  7. Procrastination should be my middle name and it always seems to be over things which actually don't take me very long once I put my mind to them.
    The jelly sounds delicious. X

  8. Procrastination...mea culpa!!! Especially when trying to get back into my walking routine. Coincidentally I mentioned that in my last post. I just keep making excuses to myself that I have other things to do and those are more important.A lack of motivation..sigh!!! Rose Jelly Jam (the name alone says "I am yummy"). It also looks scrumptious!! keep well Amanda x

    1. Hi Amanda, I have just messaged you about walking x I watched a programme on lack of motivation a few months ago and the one of the many experts invited said that if some one offered you something or suggested something and you said yes - then you should react immediately - with in the first 5 - 10 seconds (that impulse moment) because after that the brain kicks in and starts to discredit it. SO if you think - oh I should be walking, get up and do it immediately - before your brain goes .... nah, just stick the kettle on and get that book - it will all be fine!!

  10. I try not to procrastinate as it makes me cross if I walk past a job not done.... some things I've very good at doing at once but others (housework??) have to wait. Besides, currently lacking energy, I have to use what I have sparingly and for necessary jobs, eg, quilting and crochet..... at least I wake up everyday with things to do...

    1. I always wake up with things to do - I just prioritise them (probably wrongly!) which is where the procrastination comes in hahaha!
