Just about bordering on odd, I see things through different eyes. The heading says it all - I live, I love, I craft, I am me...

So, it's a soggy Sunday -what are you going to do about it?

First thing:

Sunday - my day off. So why did the cat tell me that it was time to get up at 'what-time-do-you-call-this' o'clock?

Peering through half closed eyes I could see a concerned furry face almost pressed up to mine with her paw gently tapping my cheek as she quietly chirruped to me. Grumbling I buried myself deeper under the duvet which Pepper took as confirmation I was awake and she could now converse in her more normal chatty decibels. Then stood on my head.....

Giving up I tried to focus through the early morning gloom at the clock radio. 7.55am. So not that early however, the light coming through the curtains was grey and dull.

Then I heard the wind.

Ah yes, Storm Darcy. *yay*. Another wet and windy day. I swear I am going to rust soon.

Now:

Soup is cheerfully bubbling away in the pan, the house is filling with a rather warming fragrance of cooking butternut, sweet potato and onions. The temperature gauge says it has warmed up to 2°C and there are dusty flakes of snow tossed around on the sharp breeze. It could be said it is a little chilly today...

I shall leave you with a photo from yesterday, Moss was quite damp from the rain and sleet and I made her stay in the heated greenhouse - yes I had to MAKE her stay, she wanted to play out - I just wanted us to warm up and dry out!

Yawn ... working in the greenhouse is so-ooo boring!

  1. In contrast, I was woken to a furry face completely pressed into mine this morning. It's a while since she last did that, so you can imagine how startled I was :)
Your soup looks delicious. It's a bitterly cold day so it must have been well received. X

    1. It has been bitterly cold and the soup was scoffed and very warming (my feet were the last to feel the benefits but eventually I warmed up too!)

  2. I went out for milk and on the spur of the moment I decided to treat us and my parents to a cheery bunch of flowers. It's something I never normally do, but the colours were lovely....just rang the doorbell and left them on the parental doorstep.....they were well received. Arilx

  3. Poor Moss being forced to dry out when she'd rather play out... that picture of her drying out has a trial of water, is that her drying out or was she sitting in a puddle, that being the closest she could get to water???? I must already be rusty as I creak a lot these days! x

    1. I'd sloshed a bucket of water on the floor (the glasshouse has drainage down the centre) and it was the closest to water she was ever going to get to (can you hear the dramatic music in the background?) coz I am such a cruel owner!

  4. Your soup looks delicious. I suppose being woken up by a furry face is better than an alarm. Wet and cold here today too.

  5. The soup looks yummy & have you ever tried sweet potato & parsnip? Before I got to the caption under Moss's photo, I thought "bored & this warmth is making me sleepy" & you'd already put it like that. She certainly has a way of telling you how she feels. Take care, stay safe & hugs.

  9. It makes me chuckle when I hear or read about the antics of cats, especially the demands of their morning routine. It’s 40 years since we had one but I still remember the joy of the naughtiness of him hee hee.
Stay safe and warm all of you
