Just about bordering on odd, I see things through different eyes. The heading says it all - I live, I love, I craft, I am me...

9 9 9 9 its counting time! Festive advent

Hi there - I have to say I am loving the comments I am getting and I was particularly tickled by Jacqueline's 'I bet they eight them all' I only wish I'd thought of it!! Nice one Jacqueline :)

100 solid cast iron body forms, each numbered with a small tag on the right arm.
Cast using the artist's own body in similar positions but with slight variations.

The day we went was beautiful. Brittle cold breeze but with a crisp clear blue sky and an almost blinding reflection on the choppy waves. My feet were cold in my boots as we strode over the cold shiny wet sands.  In places we had to jump over huge puddles as the tide retreated, revealing more and more of the iron figures.

Himself had rescued me from my studies - I suspect he could see my head had been filled to capacity and I was not able to absorb any more of my books - and had taken us for a micro-adventure to the sea.

Joining up with Julie every day as we celebrate the chrimbly count down :)
Why don't you take a look and see who else has joined :)

  1. I have never visited this beach but would love to see these figures, maybe one day I'll get there, I'll add it to me list.
I'm glad you were tickled by my last comment, sometimes my humour does run away with me. Alas I haven't come up with anything for 9 but I'll keep thinking!

  2. Clever choice of numbers. Those brooding figures just staring out to sea, nature taking over again, very calming. xx

  6. Hello Hawthorn

I've just had a peek at the iron body forms site (thank you for the link) and recogined the name
Antony Gormley as he is the sculptor of The Angel of the North, not too far from where I live.
    His work is amazing.
