Today's countdown is brought to you by the number five/5/V - collected over the year, a selection of photos and stories just for you.
Found in the beautiful gardens of Parcevall Hall, I think this was one of the stations of the cross. They were placed through out the garden where they stood solemnly among the flowers and shrubs. It was a peaceful enriching garden with secret corners and delightful vistas. A lovely day out with my family. This offering almost got missed. We'd been to see Anthony Gormley's Another Place and on returning to the car we carefully picked our way over the rubble placed on the sands to help prevent erosion. Our initial thoughts were 'how horrible' but when we realised that these were the remains of houses bombed during the war our attitude changed. On that little sea worn brick - the number 5 stamped into the side.
Over the summer we had many micro-adventures, often on a whim (with just a little fore-planning) and this day was one of those. We'd gone up to Galloway - for the day. For a walk, a picnic and a breath of sea air. It was wonderful.
Ah - happy memories. I think this is why I do my count down - to remind me what a lovely year I've had, all the wonderful walks we've done and special places we've visited. *love it*

I nearly missed the 5 on the stone, but clicked on it and then could see it. I visited Parcevall Hall gardens in 2011 and loved it, but didn't get there this time. Enjoying your countdown. Take care.
